Tobacco Planting and processing is now worldwide, except some countries without suitable climate. Tobacco production volume is about 6 mil ton per year.

Tobacco Planting Square is from 4 to 4.5 mil ha. The key exporters in tobacco leaf are: the U.S,  Brazil, Zimbabwe, India, China, Turkey, Malawi etc,

Now there are many big groups, multi-nation companies, running in tobacco production such as: PHilip Morris, Bristish American Tobacco (BAT), Japan Tobacco Inc, Imperial, Gallaher.

Some of these group have nove operated in Vietnam and they make joint ventures with Vietnam National Tobacco Corporation to produce famous brands both for local consuming and for export.

The world cigarette procduction is about 5,600 bil stick per year and consuming rate is 1,080 stick per capita per annum. China is a biggest consumer with consuming rate is 1,500 stick per capita per annum. The main cigarette exporter are: the U.S, the U.K, Germany with total export volume of 700 bil stick per year.
