Thanh Hoa Cigarette Factory is the 12th member
of Vietnam National Tobacco Corporation but it
is the first local cigarette factory to join Vinataba.
In the Eighties, the period when the factory
grew very well, From “Thu Bon” to “Bong Sen
Export” was a breakthrough in product strategy
and policy. The introduction of “Bong Sen” –
the first filter full flavour brand in the North
opened up a new trend in Northern markets. Production
volumes, sales and filter brand portfolio of
the factory increased annually, from 1980 to
1982 reached 20.5 mln packs average, in 1990
it was 106 mln packs (of which 94.5 mln was
filter cigarettes).
State budget payment was only 4 mln dong in
1980, 1985 up 130 mln dong and 1990 up to 19.391
bln.
The 1992-96 period brought a lot of problems
to the factory mainly due to shortage of capital
for business, including investment and current
accounts capital.
Since 1996, the factory has gradually solved
those problems, established production and improved
business efficiency . Earnings during 1996 –
2000 increased 4.18% on yearly average and budget
payments 4.4%. In 2000, the factory earned 215.18
bln dong, paid 75.237 bln dong to the state
budget.

In addition, the factory also has a packaging
department to manufacture cigarette packages
and a filter making departnment operating at
high economic efficiency.
After joining Vinataba, the factory has direct
access to other Vinataba factories which helps
a lot in the exchange of experience at the same
time supply technical training of staff . Marketing
is the main focus of factory’s sales force.
The factories is ISO 9001-2000 certified.
